Free talk on Developmental milestones – Tuesday 6th October at Nest4Mums

baby on tummy

Have you ever wondered when your baby will learn to sit , when they will learn to crawl, when to expect their first tooth and when they will first smile at you? These are important milestones in a baby’s first year of life

Come and find out about your baby’s development and when to expect these magical moments in a child’s life.

Helen is a Paediatric Physiotherapist, Developmental Specialist and one of the founders of Nest4Mums. She has been working with parents and babies for over 30 years. She is also a mother of two boys and cannot wait to share her knowledge and experience. She will explain how a baby develops and matures, discuss gross and fine motor function and show you ways to encourage and stimulate this development.

There will be plenty of time for questions and there will be some handouts to help you understand further.

This talk will take place at 3pm on Tuesday 6th October 2015 at SmartCells, 20th floor, Car Po Commercial Building, Lyndhurst Terrace, Central. For further details contact Jill Marshall on 9708 0187 or Helen on 9075 5194. Come along with your babies. See you there!

Baby Development clinics

Developmental baby clinic

I have recently linked up with Safari Kid and will be continuing our highly successful development assessment clinics and talks

We are aware more and more that parents are concerned that their babies are meeting their developmental milestones, and it is important they are checked for this and we can reassure the parents.

I am offering 30 minute consultations and developmental checks for babies and toddlers up from 0 to 2 years old on various days. This will include:

baby_weighing

  • Baby weighing, with length and head circumference measurement
  • Feet, spine and hip checks
  • Growth and feeding concerns
  • Assessment of developmental milestones
  • Advice on positioning and handling.

Many countries, such as in the UK, provide these checks as standard, but in Hong Kong this is often sadly missed out. We want to change that!

It is very important to have a developmental check in the first 6 months of life and once again when the child is slightly older. Very often, parents have questions about their child’s growth development and posture and I will be on hand to answer them all, no matter how big or small! From toes that turn out, to knees that turn in, heads that are flat and tummy buttons that stick out, crazy crawlers and reluctant walkers, I will be there to advise and reassure you

Cost: HKD 700 per 30 minute consultation. Strictly by appointment only.

For more flexibility with times, Helen can see you at Physiobaby in Mid Levels.
